Field Service Tech
Location: Remote (Must be within 1 hour of major airport-preferably in the eastern half of the US)
Pay: $39-$43/hr plus OT
All travel expenses paid 


Within this role, you will provide mechanical, electrical, and technical support to customers regarding commissioning, installation, inspection, maintenance, service, repair, rebuild and upgrades for green sand molding equipment and inspect company's molding equipment.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Install new equipment, ensuring it's properly configured and integrated with existing systems at customer's site.
  • Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment to prevent issues and ensure optimal performance.
  • When equipment malfunctions, diagnose the problem, determine the appropriate solution, and make necessary repairs or replacements both mechanical and electrical.
  • Provide technical training, guidance and support to customers, explaining how to use and maintain equipment and grow the customer relationship.
  • Document all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and customer interactions as needed.
  • Ability to comply with all company's Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and other applicable federal, state, and local EHS requirements.
  • Supervise projects and contractors as needed.
  • Complete continuous education and certifications to maintain up to date technical knowledge of equipment lines.

Specific Tasks:

  • Timely completion of expense reports.
  • Review schematics, diagrams, descriptions, layouts, and plans for troubleshooting or new installations.
  • Prepare inspection reports, identifying safety issues, replacements, wear, maintenance, and training needs.
  • Handle customer service calls about service or maintenance.
  • Communicate installation/service status with relevant stakeholders.
  • Identify and escalate improvement ideas (cost control, time savings, productivity, customer SPIN).
  • Conduct on-site customer training on operational and equipment maintenance.
  • Inform sales of customer-specific opportunities, issues, or concerns.

Qualifications:

  • Technical Proficiency: A strong understanding of the equipment or systems is crucial.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Quickly identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Accuracy and attention to detail are crucial in this role.
  • Customer Service: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with customers and providing support.
  • Adaptability: Able to adapt to different environments and situations and priorities.
  • Time Management: Manage their time effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Organizational Skills: Organized and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Professional Experience and Background:

  • Educational Background: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Experience: Three to seven years related experience.
  • Certificates and Licenses: Valid Driver's License with good driving record.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook); Willingness to train and learn the AX ERP system.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Electrical, Mechanical, PLC, Pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge and aptitude required.

    • Must be proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation along with an understanding of basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) terminology.
