EDI Team Lead

Summary:
The client's Information Services Department has an opening for an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Team Lead. EDI is now responsible for the majority of orders received by the client globally. This position is tailored to someone who wants to make a measurable difference in the company they work for, work directly with many departments and most plants across the globe, and solve new challenges daily.

The client's EDI is focused primarily on the maintenance and development of Manufacturing EDI transactions (810, 850,852, 855,856,870, etc.) utilizing the ANSI X12 specifications from versions of 003060 to 004060. The leader of the EDI Team must have excellent customer service skills, build relationships with EDI teams from other national and multi-national organizations, and enjoy creating innovative solutions.

EDI team members will contribute to and support the corporation's initiatives by planning, communicating, and encouraging team and individual contributions toward continued EDI improvements in the areas of reliability, real-time reporting, document diversity, and uniform standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (include the following, other duties may be assigned):

  • Work closely with IT developers and trading partners when designing new EDI documents that support the continued growth in document volume and diversity, providing ongoing support in steady state.
  • Understand and support current EDI platform, and be able to plan and manage implementations
  • Maintain and develop EDI transactions, mapping, testing, reporting and documentation.
  • Leading and mentoring a team of EDI Analysts to provide world-class support to our trading partners and internal business units
  • Working closely with international EDI groups to develop common solutions that drive cost savings and standardization
  • Ability to manage multiple deliverables, people and projects are prioritize work accordingly

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or any combination of experience and training that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • 3-5 years hands on relational database experience, EDI Communications Configuration experience with FTP, AS2, Van, and certificates.
  • 3-5 years of managing technical staff through design, development, testing and production support
  • Knowledge of EDI mapping software, differences between customer and vendor relationships ability to communicate scenarios both verbally and in writing while maintaining standing relationships.
  • This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Preferred:

  • Training in systems analysis; with special emphasis in project management, problem analysis, cost/benefit methods, customer relations, data gathering techniques, and management information systems. Knowledge in the operations of the companies supported is desirable
  • Training or experience in technical report and development specification writing
  • 3-5 years experience with EDI mapping, Seeberger, or other major EDI systems
  • Understanding of major ERP systems (such as SAP, MS Dynamics, etc.) and their EDI integration points
  • 5+ years experience of management responsibilities
