Senior UX Design Lead

Position Summary:
Client is seeking a Senior UX Design Lead to join the UX/UI Delivery group within Client Commercial. Reporting directly to the UX Director, this role will help drive the research, design and creation of employee-facing applications as well as external facing client web sites. Candidate will have extensive experience with UX design, with proven visual design and interaction experience, as well as the ability to conduct and lead user research efforts. The ideal candidate must have experience working with cross-functional teams, in a large corporate environment, to define and implement UX solutions in a dynamic and fast-paced agile environment.
Candidate must be able to synthesize and apply digital industry trends to solutions, directly engage with both senior client leaders, and manage internal design teams, on shore and off shore, to plan, design, and deliver world-class user experiences.
Candidate must be proficient in creating detailed interactive solutions by interpreting broadly-defined business requirements, translating those solutions into wireframes, clickable models, and/or process and user flows. Candidate must also have proven experience in early envisioning facilitation, including persona analysis, competitive analysis, omni-channel strategy (desktop, tablet, mobile), and usability analysis/testing.
Candidate must be a patient, detail-oriented self-starter, able to work diligently on multiple tasks with little supervision. Candidate must possess superior communication skills, effortlessly speaking 'up' to the client about objectives and requirements, cooperatively with designers to envision solutions, and technically with developers to ensure that the solutions are programmatically viable.
Responsibilities:
• Lead great end-to-end UX and product development process – from visioning/research to iterative design and testing in an evolving agile environment
• Mentor other onshore and offshore UX designers
• Help grow and foster a healthy creative environment
• Help create, grow and maintain best practices of design (both visual and interaction)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially as they relate to presenting, articulating and defending design and research rationale
• Overall project management and leadership of cross-functional teams to develop long-term solutions
• Define and execute the end-to-end UX strategy and vision for multiple lines of commercial insurance products, spanning multiple user groups including underwriters, operations, risk engineers, etc.
• Develop overall delivery strategy and working with discipline leads and project teams to execute on client demands and user experience targets
• Consistently manage client expectations, ensure delivery of the highest quality service, and solicit and act on client feedback
• Communicate and document project status and strategic recommendations to clients, team members and senior management when needed; escalate issues accordingly via the appropriate channels
• Leverage both design and technical skills, specifically visual design, prototyping and responsive web fundamentals
• Engage users to identify opportunities for improving site usability and responsiveness
Required skills:
• Degree from a leading university in Design, Human Factors, Fine Arts or related field
• 7-10 yrs experience in UX design (Visual design, interaction design and user research)
• Extensive experience with large scale, transactional, enterprise applications
• Expert knowledge of UX process in an Agile environment
• Ability to create design comps for both print and web following established Client brand standards
• Strong facilitation and negotiation skills and confidence to help drive design solutions with key stakeholders across the Commercial landscape
• Demonstrated expert knowledge of industry standard tools: Adobe Creative Suite, Axure specifically
• Expert knowledge of mobile app and mobile web responsive design
• Extensive experience designing enterprise products with complex business logic
• Portfolio of examples that illustrates all required skills/experience and firm understanding of user-centered design processes and interaction design principals a must
