Holidays in New York City

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

You’ve found yourself in New York City during the holiday times, but you don’t actually know where to go to find that good old holiday cheer you hear so much about. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Our team here at OST has decided to share our favorite holiday spots with you!

  • Serendipity: Grab yourself a frozen hot chocolate and cuddle up next to your loved ones at this NYC staple. Not sure if frozen hot chocolate is your cup of tea? Don’t worry, just take a look at their very large menus – we’re sure you’ll find something.

Where: 225 East 60th Street, New York, NY 10022

  • Ice Skating: Bryant Park and Central Park both have great rinks. Bryant Park has the view, but Central Park has the horse and carriage ride. We recommend both.
  • Window Walk: Barneys, Saks, Macy’s – you name it, these windows have it. If you find yourself strolling along 5th Avenue, (or even Madison, Lexington, or Park) you may catch glimpse of beautiful window displays. A true part of the NYC holiday season, this is something we don’t recommend missing!
  • Rockefeller Center Tree: The tree of all trees. Enough said.

Where: Rockefeller Center, New York, NY 10111

  • Shows: The perfect holiday activity, especially if the weather isn’t great – for whether you’re in the mood to see The Rockettes in a Christmas Spectacular, or you’re in the mood to be wowed by George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker.

Where: Radio City Music Hall 1260 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10020

Where: Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts 10 Lincoln Center Plaza, New York, NY 10023

  • Union Square Holiday Market: Still need to get someone (or yourself) a gift? This is the place to go. From Christmas ornaments to handmade jewelry to food, the Union Square Holiday Market has that something special for well, just about anyone.

Where: 14th Street Union Square New York, NY 10011

And if you happen to be here on the 25th, make sure you look up! Google Maps is great for helping you get from place to place but the real magic is going to be right above you. The Empire State Building will be shining in green and red, a sight you do not want to miss.

We hope this helps (along with the map showing you where almost everything is) – happy holidays and have a happy and healthy New Year from the OST team!
