03.12.12 - Thanks to an article written in Staffing Talk by Margaret Steen, several staffing experts have provided insight as to what can be expected in 2012 employment and how candidates can prepare themselves for it:

1. While there is hope to see a recovering economy, it is possible that the high rates of unemployment may still continue to rise.  If fewer jobs are being created, then it may seem that there’s less of a need for a recruiter.  In reality, there’s more of a need:  The increased flow of resumes can be overwhelming to the hiring companies, which means candidates can get lost in the many resumes the companies will be receiving every day.  Therefore it’s better for candidates to use recruiting firms, who can better represent them based on their knowledge of the open positions and their relationships with the company.  This makes it easier for candidates to stand out to their prospective employer.

2. There is a growing interest amongst employers to place more emphasis on contract/ consulting positions as opposed to full time/permanent hire. When candidates have a strong relationship with a recruiting firm, they can be better placed in these contract/consulting positions.  And if the candidate’s long-term goal is to have something more permanent, the recruiting firm will continually search for those opportunities for them.  Then, the candidates can be more appropriately placed, at the right time, when something more permanent comes along.

3. With the large number of active baby boomers who are retiring at slower rates, recruiting firm are serving a wider range of candidates – everything from recent graduates to baby boomers.    As the market pool is growing in range of experience, it is important that a candidate finds the right recruiting firm that addresses where he or she fits into the market place and represents the candidate’s particular skills/experience.

While the good news is that the economy is improving, we understand that candidates still have many questions and concerns regarding how to get the right job as quickly as possible.  That’s why Open Systems Technologies staffing solutions is here.  Contact us.  We are happy to counsel and direct you with your employment ambitions.

“Our mission is to reinforce the Independent Living Philosophy.”

Philadelphia, PA, February 11th 2012:  Open Systems Technologies Inc., a leading provider of staffing solutions, is pleased to announce the formation of Open Systems Healthcare Inc. (OSH), a homecare  staffing agency whose mission is to focus primarily on the  “Independent Living Philosophy”.  Serving Philadelphia and the southeastern Pennsylvania regions, Open Systems Healthcare’s business mission is to promote choice, control, and dignity amongst care recipients, while providing consumers with exceptional personal and attendant care services in the home and community.

“After working in the Healthcare Staffing Industry for a number of years,” says Charles Hill, Managing Director of Open Systems Healthcare, “we saw that many healthcare agencies were using a model that limits the independence, choice, and overall freedom of care recipients.  As a result, we decided to create an agency that offers high quality care that facilitates the self-respect of its consumers.  We are extremely excited to enter the burgeoning health care industry within the Greater Philadelphia region with a philosophy that our consumers believe in.”

As a member of the National Association for Home Care and Hospice, The Private Duty Homecare Association and The Pennsylvania Homecare Association, the Open Systems Healthcare staff knows that the selection of a home care agency is very important.  Therefore, consumers and caregivers need to be as informed as possible.

New marketing team to make Open Systems staffing solutions a household name

02.16.12 - It’s like survival of the fittest in technology. If you want to remain on top, you have to roll with the punches. While the concept of marketing is certainly not new, social media is definitely a recent hot topic. And so, Open Systems welcomes its new marketing team to capitalize on social media to bring more visibility to the company.  With regular email communications, blogging, and use of online social media, the marketing team will publicize the strengths of Open Systems to reinforce the presence of current consultants and to increase the placements of its candidates.

A common discussion amongst the recruiting community is if social media will end up replacing the need for recruiters. Although this isn’t true, times are changing and true survivors will also need to change. “The key to Open Systems’ long-term success is by leveraging the human aspect of recruiting through social media,” says Open Systems’ Marketing Manager, Alanna Herling.  “And in order to succeed in our social media campaign, we must brand our organization through impactful marketing communication.”

Open Systems has been around for over twenty years, and is one of the largest privately held firms in the staffing industry.  As they continue to work closely with many Fortune 1000 companies, they know that solid relationships must always be reinforced – for both its clients and consultants. Strong communication strengthens these relationships.  “We already know the industry, and it’s important to stay current by sharing information in the marketplace,” says Alanna.  “To be a leader in the industry, we must not only advise our clients and consultants, but also learn from them.” Open Systems has started its own blog, http://opensystemstech.wordpress.com/, which offers recruiting advice and lists industry-related events. The blog also features a section for the company’s press, a section with updates from inside the company, and a section for viewers to post comments/questions.
Open Systems expects to grow even more through social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and industry websites/blogs. Through these forums the well-known staffing company will share industry information regularly. Whether through survey polls distributed by email blasts or questions asked on Facebook, Open Systems’ marketing team will analyze feedback to stay ahead of the industry trends and to educate the community.

To further personalize its social media efforts, some of Open Systems’ local offices will also hold networking events for clients and consultants to interact. This will be a great opportunity to strengthen existing relationships and to create influential new ones.  Plus, client executive guest speakers like to occasionally surprise networkers with spontaneous insight into the latest recruiting efforts within their own organizations.

A lot of time, planning, and hard work has been put into the Open Systems 2012 marketing plan, and the team is off to a great start.  In addition to its blog, they’ve initiated email blasts and successfully held their first networking event in New York, NY – with many referrals being generated.  The new addition to the Open Systems family is already paying off, but they know there’s still a lot to do.  In fact, the next event is scheduled in Dallas, TX, reaffirming Open Systems’ name and relationships throughout the country.

02.09.12 - OST staffing solutions is now hiring in our New York office. We are looking for intelligent, personable, self-motivated people to come join the OST family. For more details on this great opportunity, please email Alanna Herling at AHerling@OSTNY.com - or contact us at 212.643.3100. Looking forward to hearing from you!
